Starting and finishing at The Larder @ Burrough Court, this picturesque circular route takes you through rolling countryside, along footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes, offering a chance to slow down and enjoy the beautiful rural landscape surrounding Burrough Court. Whether you’re visiting for breakfast, coffee, lunch, a business meeting or simply searching for a walk near Melton Mowbray or Oakham, the Larder Loop is a wonderful way to spend time outdoors.

Getting here
The walk begins and ends at The Larder @ Burrough Court (what3words///: knots.reckoned.belly) with free parking available in the Paddock Car Park, and electric car charging in the same car park but this isn’t free.
Once you’ve entered Burrough Court, take the first left just before the black automatic gates. You’ll pass a cottage on your left, with the farmhouse on the corner. Follow the lane around the bend to the left and it will lead you directly into the Paddock Car Park. You’ll see Paws in the Park, the award-winning secure dog walking field in the far left of the car park.
Before you set off
To help you enjoy your walk, please note the following:
- The route map is intended as a guide and is not drawn to scale.
- Dogs must be kept on leads while within Burrough Court.
- We also recommend keeping dogs on leads when walking through fields containing livestock, which you’ll encounter along the route.
- During the summer months, some sections of the public footpaths can become a little overgrown. As these paths are not on Burrough Court Estate their maintenance is outside of our control, so we recommend wearing long trousers or leggings where possible.
